Rinya Nakamura lived up to his billing earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 2, 2025) at UFC Vegas 108 LIVE on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the talented bantamweight prospect put a quick stop to Paddy Pimblett’s teammate, Nathan Fletcher, with a 62-second liver kick knockout.
Despite coming off a disappointing loss to Muin Gafurov back in January, Nakamura was still a very large betting favorite
heading into his “Prelims” headliner against Fletcher on Saturday. It was a testament to Nakamura’s potential at 135 pounds and something the oddsmakers ultimately nailed on the head.
Fletcher, who is known for his submission skills, tried to cut angles early to close the gap on Nakamura and use his grappling. Unfortunately for the English fighter, Nakamura was dialed in from the opening bell and maintained perfect distance. Out of nowhere, Nakamura launched a perfectly-placed kick to the liver (toes and all) that put Fletcher down for the count and forced the referee’s hand. Only 62 second had come off the clock.
