The Steelers were back in action yesterday, and fans and media were able to get their first look at the team after a flurry of roster changes in the offseason. There was none bigger than starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers didn’t have his finest day on the opening day of training camp, as his first pass in black and gold was intercepted by linebacker Patrick Queen.

It was a small moment that was discouraging for fans, but Rodgers implied that it’s important to keep perspective, as one pass on the first day of training camp doesn’t mean the season is over.

“I mean, anybody who watched me practice over the years, you know, you like to try certain throws at certain times and anyone that’s watched me in a game knows I’ve been pretty stellar taking care of the football,” Rodgers said.

Although it wasn’t an ideal start for the future Hall of Famer, it’s certainly going to take some time to build chemistry with his new teammates. Rodgers acknowledged that, and he isn’t panicking anytime soon.

It’s worth mentioning that the pass was intended for his new roommate, DK Metcalf, who is also still adjusting to his new environment in Latrobe.

Reports suggested outside of the interception, Rodgers looked a bit rusty in general. However, that shouldn’t come as a surprise, given the context. Just my opinion — but I think we can all move on.
