Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across Major League Baseball. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in New York Yankees fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
The All-Star break doesn’t generally come at the actual halfway point of the MLB season these days, an indeed, 2025 is not particularly close. Every team in baseball has played at least 95 games; the Red Sox and A’s have even played 98! But since the schedule
adjourns for nearly an entire work week at this time, it remains a perfect opportunity to reflect on your favorite team and what might be in store for the “second half.”
The Yankees certainly do not fancy themselves a second-place team, but the results are the results right now. They lost their AL East lead to the upstart Blue Jays and now also have to deal with the Red Sox breathing down their necks after 10 wins in a row. Even beyond the AL East, the Yanks have their work cut out for them with the Tigers and Astros both commanding the AL Central and West, respectively. And we’re not even getting into the beasts of the National League. Reinforcements of some kind will likely be on the way by the Trade Deadline, but we’ll have to wait and see on the details. With Aaron Judge still playing like an MVP though and other impactful players still around, the Yanks will have their shot.
So for this week’s Reacts poll, we want you to make a “midseason” prediction about how the Yankees will finish the 2025 season. Will they go all the way or fall short in the Fall Classic again? Will they even make it there? Everyone seemingly has strong opinions this time of year, so make them known! And while you’re at it, since we’re asking two prompts, give a grade to the Yankees’ draft class! Draft Day 2 closed out the event and the Yankees have 19 new draft picks to consider for possible big-league roster spots.
Vote in both polls and let us know your thoughts! We’ll check out the results later this week with the second half on deck. And if you need help deciding your draft grade, check out the material that Pinstripe Alley produced on the Yankees’ 2025 class!
