“Astroboy” is staying on UFC Vegas 109.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Flyweight title challenger Steve Erceg was set to throw down with undefeated Korean prospect Hyun Sung Park

at UFC Vegas 109 next week (Sat., Aug. 9, 2025) after Alex Perez bowed out. But in a wild twist, Park got yanked to face Tatsuro Taira this week instead (details here).

Now, Erceg (12-4) squares off against knockout machine Ode Osbourne, who confirmed the last-minute

Erceg’s been on a rough ride, dropping three straight after a blazing UFC start that earned him a crack at Alexandre Pantoja’s title (spoiler: he came up short).

The 30-year-old Aussie is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Brandon Moreno at UFC Mexico City and, before that, was knocked out by Kai Kara-France in the UFC 305 co-main event (watch highlights).

After facing that murderer’s row—Moreno, Kara-France, and Pantoja—this matchup feels like a much-needed and deserved step down in competition

Osbourne (13-8) is coming off a statement win, icing the previously unbeaten Luis Gurule and stealing his ‘O’ with a brutal knockout (watch highlights).

Before that, “The Jamaican Sensation” dropped a razor-close decision to Ronaldo Rodriguez at UFC 306 and got stopped twice by Jafel Filho and Asu Almabayev.
