Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Philadelphia 76ers fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
July is almost in the rearview mirror already, if you can believe it. We are already a month removed from the 2025 NBA Draft, are a few weeks into free agency and Summer League has come and gone.
Yes, the Philadelphia 76ers — well, the Summer Sixers — have played some
basketball already! Admittedly, a lot of the excitement around the Sixers’ seasonal contests died quickly when VJ Edgecombe had to miss a few games with a thumb sprain after making an exciting debut. The No. 3 overall pick’s absence, however, did allow some other players to take the spotlight... for better or worse.
It was our first chance to see new arrivals like No. 35 overall draft pick Johni Broome and two-way player Dominick Barlow in action, as well as to check in on the progress of returning players such as Justin Edwards and Adem Bona. These types of players were especially important to watch in Summer League, as they’re the guys that are actually going to be with the Sixers come time to start playing real basketball in the fall.
Who impressed you the most — other than Edgecombe — in Sixers’ Summer League ball? Someone we didn’t mention? Be sure to vote and let us know in the comments!
