The Seattle Mariners acquired first baseman Josh Naylor from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday in exchange for left-handed pitcher Brandyn Garcia and right-hander Ashton Izzi.
The move gives Seattle an offensive upgrade at first base, where incumbent Luke Raley was hitting .220 with four homers and 18 RBIs.

"We
are thrilled to add Josh as we make a push for the postseason," Seattle general manager Justin Hollander said in a statement. "Josh's ability to hit for both average and power is unique and we are excited to not face him anymore."
Naylor is a career .267 hitter with 95 homers and 402 RBIs across seven major league seasons, including stops with the San Diego Padres (2019-20), Cleveland (2020-24) and Arizona (2025).
