Bonhams Auctions Ayrton Senna's Last V-10 Engine, Offering Motorsport History

Bonhams is set to auction the last V-10 engine raced by Ayrton Senna, which powered the McLaren Honda MP4/5B. This engine, a 3.5-liter V-10 RA100E-V805, was used during the 1990 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka Circuit, where Senna collided with Alain Prost. The engine was also used in the Australian Grand Prix, although Senna did not finish the race. Honda Racing Corporation has disassembled the engine, preserving it in its original state, and it will be sold with a certificate of authenticity. The auction is scheduled for August 15 at The Quail during Monterey Car Week.
