Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the finest spinners that India produced, who lit up the big stage in cricket for years. The 39-year-old retired from all formats of the game last year after playing his last match
for India against Australia in Adelaide, which was five day contest. Ashwin was a peak performer for Chennai, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Delhi in the IPL. However, he decided to hang up his boots in the IPL after the 2025 season with CSK.
Following that, Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his willingness to explore different global leagues in cricket and create a name for himself in different parts of the world. With that, the star bowler has now officially become a part of the Hong Kong Sixes tournament. He will be one of the six members to don the Indian jersey in the six-a-side tournament. There will be a total of 12 teams participating in the league who will compete against each other to win the silverware.

Ashwin who has been the highest ranked bowler by ICC multiple number of times expressed his delight on joining the Hong Kong Sixes. He stated, "it has always been an existing format that I wanted to be a part of. This format requires a different strategy and will prove to be high octane which I am looking forward to playing alongside my ex-teammates. I am also thrilled to compete against some quality players in the opposition teams, it will be a good challenge for us."
