after losing their top-order batters at a score of 20 in four overs. Abhishek Sharma departed in the second over after scoring only five. In the next over, India skipper Suryakumar Yadav also lost his wicket against Shaheen Shah Afridi after amassing only one off five. In the crunch situation, Shubman Gill was expected to stand at the crease but he also looked to play the attacking shot against Faheem Ashraf in the fourth over and lost his wicket after scoring 12 off 10.
Indiatop-order batters’ poor performances rankled netizen. Several Team India supporters on social media took Gill and Suryakumar to the cleaners. Sanju Samson dropped on 12 by Hussain Talat in Asia Cup 2025
After the early losses, India have kept their expectations high from Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson. Both have built a 50-run stand after 11.2 overs. In the ninth over, Samson strove to play a huge shot against Abrar Ahmed but Hussain Talat, who was deployed at the deep, dropped the chance.
Samson was playing on 12 when Talat missed the chance. As of writing, India require 71 off 48 to win the final and retain the trophy as the Men in Blue are at 76/3 after 12 overs, with Varma (34* off 21) and Samson (24* off 20) at the crease.
