MI’s biggest rivals in IPL are Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who have won a similar number of titles under MS Dhoni. In the rivalry between both sides, Pollard troubled CSK several times with his all-round prowess and helped Mumbai taste success.

Pollard, who played a lot of cricket withRohit Sharmain Mumbai, feels MS Dhoni is the best in the cricketing world. Speaking to News24, Pollard remarked, “Best cricket captain. I’ve never played alongside him, but I’ve seen some of his tactics on the cricket field, and I really enjoyed MS Dhoni. I’ve really enjoyed, I really enjoyed his captaincy from afar, playing against him, being in the middle, seeing his tactics and stuff like that, I’ve enjoyed that. So, I’ll say, for me, MS Dhoni.”

Pollard is active in the sport as a player in the Caribbean Premier League(CPL) 2025. Serving Trinbago Knight Riders in the ongoing season, he has chipped in with 327 runs in nine innings of 11 matches at a stellar strike rate of 179.67. Trinbago, the three-time title winners, will take on St Lucia Kings in Qualifier 2 to be held on September 20.

In the Eliminator game against Antigua and Barbados Falcons at the Providence Stadium, Trinbago looked dominating and bagged a nine-wicket win. Captain Nicholas Pooran shone with his bat and became the player of the match (POTM) for his unbeaten 90 off 53. Pollard also did a decent job as a bowler, bowling a frugal spell of 0/19 in his three overs.
