Village Tourism Vision
Andhra Pradesh is embarking on an ambitious plan to redefine tourism by focusing on its diverse rural landscape. Moving beyond established tourist trails, the state government envisions turning every village
into a potential destination. This strategic shift aims to foster economic growth and cultural exchange at the grassroots level. The Tourism Minister, alongside top officials, has championed this forward-thinking approach, emphasizing a departure from the conventional model that often concentrates on a limited number of well-known locales. The initiative seeks to create a decentralized tourism ecosystem, empowering local communities and offering visitors authentic experiences that reflect the true essence of Andhra Pradesh's countryside and traditions.
Influencer-Led Exposure
To bring these rural treasures to national attention, the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department partnered with Volunteer Yatra for an innovative campaign. This strategy utilized the extensive reach of social media influencers, proving remarkably effective. In a short span of just a few weeks, the campaign generated an impressive 9 million views and garnered over 1,000 booking inquiries. This digital-first approach achieved significant national visibility for Andhra Pradesh's tourism offerings at a substantially lower cost compared to traditional advertising methods. The success underscores the power of influencer marketing in engaging a broad audience and driving tangible interest in lesser-known destinations.
Northern Circuit Delights
The campaign's first phase, conducted in December 2025, saw 11 influential content creators from various states like Delhi, Rajasthan, Assam, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh embark on a tour. Their itinerary included the picturesque regions of Visakhapatnam, Araku Valley, and Lambasingi. The influencers meticulously captured their experiences through cinematic travel films, breathtaking drone footage, and engaging short video reels. These compelling visual narratives collectively captivated an audience of over 4 million viewers, successfully drawing national spotlight to the scenic beauty and unique appeal of these northern Andhra Pradesh circuits and attracting significant interest from across the country.
Konaseema's Festive Flair
Following the success of the initial phase, a second group of influencers was dispatched in January 2026 to experience the vibrant Sankranti festival in the Konaseema region. During their visit, they documented and shared captivating content showcasing traditional festivities such as the Bhogi bonfires and the lively Prabhala Theertham, alongside other cherished local customs. The reels produced from this phase garnered an impressive 5 million views, further amplifying the cultural richness of Konaseema on a national scale. The influencers also took the opportunity to highlight the scenic charm of Atreyapuram, Antarvedi, and Rajahmundry, ensuring that the distinctive cultural tapestry and natural beauty of this eastern Andhra Pradesh region received widespread recognition.
