Emirates has announced a ban on the use of electronic power banks on board its flights, effective from October 1. This decision follows concerns about the safety of lithium-ion battery devices, particularly after a fire incident involving an Airbus A321 at Gimhae. Passengers will be allowed to carry a single power bank, restricted to less than 100Wh, under specific conditions. The power banks must be stored in a bag under the seat or in the seat pocket, rather than in overhead lockers. Emirates already prohibits power banks in checked baggage.
