What's Happening?
Canada is a member of the Group of Seven (G7), an informal grouping of advanced democracies that meets to coordinate approaches to global economic stability, threats to international peace and security, and other transnational issues. Canada assumed the presidency of the G7 for the seventh time on January 1, 2025, and will host the G7 Leaders’ Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta, from June 15 to 17, 2025. Canada's presidency focuses on protecting communities, building energy security, and securing future partnerships.
