UNICEF's Representative in Sudan, Sheldon Yett, emphasized the dire situation, noting that children are being deprived of essential services due to the funding crisis. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that only 23% of the $4.16 billion humanitarian response plan for Sudan has been funded. Access to affected areas is further hindered by seasonal rains and ongoing sieges, such as in Al-Fashir.
