The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced the disbursement of Rs. 288.85 crore in loans to 2,597 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) as part of its bank linkage initiative. Additionally, Rs. 1.15 crore has been sanctioned to 155 individuals through the Self-Employment Programme (SEP) to support the establishment of microenterprises. This announcement was made during the 79th Independence Day celebrations at the GHMC head office, where Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi emphasized the government's commitment to inclusive and sustainable development. The Mayor also highlighted the success of transgender youth trained in graphic design, who have secured job offers from Red TV, and the issuance of driving licenses to five women to support their livelihoods.
