Guernsey Ports reported that the number of coastguard incidents this summer is consistent with the same period last year. Between July 19 and August 19, coastguards attended 34 incidents, matching the previous year's figures. From January 1 to July 31, there were 132 incidents, compared to 115 during the same period in 2024. Acting Harbour Master James Way noted the increased complexity in coordinating responses due to more vessels and people around the coast.
