What's Happening?
Estonia has received six additional CAESAR self-propelled howitzers from France, enhancing its military capabilities. This delivery is part of a contract signed in April 2024, with the first batch arriving earlier this year. Estonia now operates 12 CAESAR howitzers and 24 South Korean K9 Thunder self-propelled howitzers, with plans to acquire more. In 2022, Estonia provided Ukraine with its towed artillery, including D-30 and FH-70 pieces, as part of its support for Ukraine's defense efforts. The Estonian Ministry of Defense highlighted the increased firepower and mobility these new acquisitions bring to its armed forces.
