The Sustain Sudan Project has been launched to tackle the severe food insecurity crisis in Sudan, exacerbated by ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The initiative, led by Sustain Africa and supported by partners such as IFDC, CIMMYT, and the Clingendael Institute, aims to revive local food production by providing affordable access to fertilizers, seeds, and crop protection products. The project plans to deliver 260,000 metric tons of subsidized fertilizers and engage 350,000 farmers to cultivate 1.7 million acres of farmland, ultimately supporting two million households. The effort is focused on practical solutions to ensure food security in safer regions of Sudan.
