What's Happening?
The Italian Ministry of Defence's Directorate of Naval Armaments is seeking an offshore supply vessel (OSV) to monitor and protect critical undersea infrastructure (CUI). A preliminary market consultation outlined the need for a baseline OSV to be used as a Multipurpose Underwater Surveillance Unit. The vessel will transport and deploy unmanned underwater vehicles, both autonomous and remotely piloted. The OSV must be highly flexible, rapidly reconfigurable, and built within the last 10 years. The Italian MoD aims to have the vessel ready for delivery by February 2026, with maintenance and modifications carried out in Italy.
