Beyond Borders Café, located at 1036 Sterling Ave. in downtown Flossmoor, has officially opened its doors, offering a unique historical theme. Owners Jennifer and Christopher Zarozny welcomed the community on August 9, with Mayor Michelle Nelson and village trustees in attendance. The café features a cozy environment adorned with antique items ranging from the 1800s to the 1950s, reflecting the historical look of the downtown area. The menu includes a variety of coffees sourced from Conscious Cup, a family-owned coffee roaster in Crystal Lake, known for ethically sourcing beans from Venezuela, Sumatra, and Ethiopia. The café also plans to introduce beers and wines, leveraging its liquor license, and is renovating a back room to create an indoor-outdoor space.
