A memorial quilt is being created in Kent by individuals who have lost loved ones to suicide. The quilt, known as the Kent Speak Their Name memorial quilt, consists of 66 squares crafted during workshops held earlier this year. The initiative is led by the parents of Stefan Kluibenschadl, a 15-year-old from Margate who died in 2022. The quilt will be displayed at the Baton of Hope event in Margate on September 22. Emma Kluibenschadl, Stefan's mother, described the workshops as emotional and powerful, providing a space for authentic expression of grief. The quilt predominantly represents males, with the youngest being three 13-year-old girls.
