Maureen A. Culleeney, a respected educator and community member, passed away peacefully at her home in Elk Grove Village on August 13, 2025. Born on January 17, 1954, in Berwyn, Illinois, she was 71 years old at the time of her passing. Culleeney was known for her dedication to education, having earned multiple advanced degrees, including a Ph.D., and served as a professor at Lewis University. Her commitment to teaching impacted generations of students. She was also deeply devoted to her family and friends, leaving behind her sister Kathleen Culleeney and many beloved friends and neighbors. Visitation is scheduled for August 22 at Michaels Funeral Home in Schaumburg, followed by prayers and a Mass of Christian Burial on August 23 at Holy Archangels Parish, St. Hubert Campus in Hoffman Estates. Entombment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
