Born on December 14, 1930, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, he was the son of Henry and Vera Van Hooydonk. John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Rich Van Hooydonk, and their children, John (Cindy) Van Hooydonk, Paul Van Hooydonk, Sharon (Bruce) Rohdenburg, and Christy (Jeremy) Buley. He also leaves behind grandchildren, siblings, and numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 30, at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Webster, followed by a funeral service.
