Shirley J. VanDekken, affectionately known as 'The Hat Lady,' passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025. Born on April 20, 1932, in Rochester, New York, Shirley was known for living by 'The Golden Rule' and 'The Ten Commandments.' She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a brother, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Cornelius 'Neal,' and several siblings. Her family and friends remember her fondly for her loving nature and strong faith.
