What's Happening?
Lake Macquarie City Council has announced the extension of self-service hours across six library branches, effective from July 28. The branches, including Toronto, Speers Point, Belmont, Sugar Valley, Cardiff, and Wangi Wangi, will now be accessible from 6am to 9pm, seven days a week. This initiative follows a significant increase in self-access usage, which has more than doubled over the past year. The extended hours aim to accommodate the community's growing demand for library services outside traditional operating times. Services available during these hours include borrowing and returning items, using public PCs and wi-fi, and printing and photocopying.
