She was actively involved in various community and school organizations, including the Sauganash Garden Club and the Loyola Academy Mothers Club. Her contributions extended to her role as a Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glenview and Queen of All Saints parish in Sauganash. Mary Lou was married to the late Honorable John J. O'Toole and is survived by her husband Gerard C. Hillsman, her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Her funeral services are scheduled for August 9, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, with a private burial on August 11 at All Saints Cemetery.
