James C. Tielke, a longtime resident of Lake County, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, at the age of 94. Tielke was born in Yankton, South Dakota, and was deeply involved in his family's car dealership from a young age. He later moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, and then Vermillion, South Dakota, where he earned both a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of South Dakota. Tielke's career in business began at Montgomery Ward, where he rose to the position of Vice President over 21 years. He later held leadership roles at Dupli-Color Products, Black Leaf Chemical, and Koos, Inc. Tielke retired in 1997 but continued to work as a business consultant. He was also a devoted Catholic, actively participating in various ministries at St. Joseph Church in Libertyville, Illinois. Tielke is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
