Her career in medical records spanned several decades, including roles at Monroe County Welfare Medical Records Department and Genesee Hospital Medical Records Department. She was deeply involved in the Urban-Suburban Interdistrict Transfer Program until her retirement. Marrero's passion for music was evident as she sang in various choirs, including the original St. Simon's choir and the African American Women's Gospel Choir (AKOMA). Her volunteer work as a Candy Striper at the Red Cross and Canandaigua Veterans Hospital highlighted her commitment to helping others. Marrero was also active in organizations such as the VFW, the American Legion, and the Genesee Valley Marine Corps League Auxiliary. She is survived by her spouse, children, grandchildren, and extended family, who will remember her warmth and kindness.
