Metro is set to release two limited-edition TAP cards next week in tribute to the late hip-hop icon Nipsey Hussle, who was tragically shot in 2019. The release coincides with what would have been Nipsey Hussle's 40th birthday, celebrating his cultural influence and support for public transit. The cards will feature two distinct designs: the 'Crenshaw & Slauson' design, showcasing a black-and-white portrait of Nipsey on the streets of Crenshaw, and the 'Watts' design, presenting a color-stylized portrait of Nipsey on a Metro bus. A total of 12,000 cards will be available starting August 15 at Metro Customer Centers and select Metro station ticket vending machines.
