He was married to Betty Mullins on September 15, 1972, in Folkston, GA. Bass is survived by his wife, Betty Bass, sister-in-law Linda Reiff, niece Kisha Kruse, nephew Eric Jennings, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Steele, and brothers Clyde and Dean Bass. Bass was fond of Florida's warm weather and was an avid supporter of the Florida Gators. His hobbies included fishing and spending time with family and friends.
