Additionally, 77% of dog owners have canceled outdoor activities due to heat concerns, averaging nearly four cancellations per week. To mitigate the heat, 52% of respondents now prefer evening walks, while 47% opt for early morning outings. Safety measures such as checking pavement temperatures to prevent paw burns are also common, with 91% of owners taking precautions before walking their dogs.
