Born on December 12, 1968, in Evanston, Illinois, Caestecker was a graduate of New Trier Township High School and held a B.A. from Spring Hill College. He furthered his education with graduate work at the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in history from DePaul University. Caestecker was a prolific writer, contributing to publications such as the Chicago Tribune and Tasting Panel Magazine. He later transitioned to the wine industry, combining his passion for writing and wine. Known for his love of music, he played several instruments and enjoyed sharing his musical interests with family and friends. Caestecker is survived by his wife, Donnelly, and their three children, Ella, Charles, and Mary Katherine.
