What's Happening?
Father William F. Gerut, SJ, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at the age of 88 at St. Camillus Jesuit Community. He was a Jesuit for 71 years and served as a priest for 58 years. Father Gerut was known for his pastoral work at Jesuit parishes across Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, and his service as a hospital chaplain at Creighton University in Omaha. His dedication to the Jesuit community and his role as a spiritual leader were deeply valued. A memorial Mass is scheduled for September 6, 2025, at the Jesuit chapel at St. Camillus, with the service being livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
