Uttarakhand: Another massive cloudburst in Dehradun | Watch video

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Two people are reportedly missing so far after a massive cloudburst occurred in the outskirts of Uttarakhand’s Dehradun on Tuesday, causing landslides and heavy downpour in the Sahastradhara area.



The floods swept the brass idol of Lord Shiva from the Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple was inundated with water.

The bridge built by the Gorkha Regiment in 1962 connecting Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Yoga Mandir ans Santoshi Mata Mandir was also washed away.

The connection between Veerpur and the rear part of the Army area was cut off.

Heavy damages have been reported in Karligarh area.

Teams of SDRF, NDRF and PWD (Public Works Department) are engaged in relief and rescue work on the spot.

This is the second cloudburst in about a month. The last one was in early in the Dharali area of Uttarkashi followed by devastating flash floods and landslides that destroyed homes, hotels, and homestays.
