The initiative aims to make diagnostic services more accessible by situating CDCs in convenient locations such as shopping centres and near main roads. Since the introduction of CDCs in 2021/22, the south west programme has contributed to reducing waiting times in England, with 1.9 million tests and scans provided across the region.
