Danielle Spencer, who played Dee Thomas on the sitcom 'What’s Happening!!', has died at the age of 60. Her former co-star Haywood Nelson announced her passing on Instagram, noting her battle with cancer. Spencer was born in Trenton, NJ, and began her acting career at age 8. She starred in 'What’s Happening!!' from 1976 to 1979 and reprised her role in 'What’s Happening Now!!'. After a tragic car accident in 1977, Spencer shifted her focus from acting to veterinary science, earning her degree from UC Davis and Tuskegee University. She continued to make occasional acting appearances, including roles in 'As Good as It Gets' and 'Days Of Our Lives'.
