Dematic, a supply chain automation company, has partnered with the global nonprofit FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) to award scholarships to students pursuing STEM education. The Dematic FIRST Scholarship program, now in its fifth year, has granted 12 students a total of $20,000 in scholarships. Two students received $5,000 each, while ten others received $1,000 each. The scholarship program aims to support students who have participated in FIRST Robotics Competition or FIRST Tech Challenge, requiring applicants to submit transcripts, a letter of recommendation, and an essay proposing solutions to water resource issues using existing or emerging technologies.
