Azeez instructed that the money be transferred directly into his personal bank account, which raised suspicions. The family alerted the police, who tracked the phone number used by Azeez and discovered he had been in Owo throughout the alleged abduction. He confessed to the crime upon arrest and will be charged to court after the investigation is completed.
