you go out – whatever the reason, long-term straightening solution is a boon. But with the boon, comes responsibilities. The aftercare generally includes changing up the hair care to suit chemically suited hair and there is no room for slacking off with it.

What is the need for upgrading hair care for chemically straightened hair?

There are different types of options available. Strong chemicals are used to break the bonds and restructure hair according to the desired shape. Naturally, after hair has gone through the process of intense treatments to change hair from frizzy to straight, it is more prone to the environment and brittleness. To care for straightened hair is very much essential so the hair stays for a longer period and healthy hair is maintained.

Here are a few ways to upgrade hair care:

Make sure the products are sulphate-free

Switching shampoo after chemically straightening hair is mandatory. The salon personnel can guide the best one suited for your hair. Make sure all products you use are sulphate-free as it tends to irritate the scalp. Also, make sure to condition it every time you shampoo.

Hair spa

Hair spa will help salvage hair from dirt, dust, and sun exposure and retain healthy hair. Hair spa, once or twice a month, can do wonders for your hair.

Avoid too much sun exposure

Make sure not to expose your hair to the sun. Covering your hair when you step out is a much-needed part of hair care.

Deep conditioning at least once a week

Since a lot of chemicals are used to break the hair bonds, deep conditioning once a week can do wonders for your hair.

Make sure to go for a trim

A trim every six to eight weeks will keep the hair healthy. Split ends and straightened hair do not go well together, so make sure to keep an eye out for them.

Take care while sleeping

Tying your hair for too long can make dents in the hair, which defeats the purpose of straightened hair. While sleeping, pull all your hair over the pillow to prevent getting unwanted dents in your hair.

Say no to heat styling

No heat of any kind is advised. If you must, opt for blow drying and nothing else.
