What's Happening?
Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) has commenced production of the third Pohjanmaa-class multi-role corvette for the Finnish Navy as part of the Squadron 2020 project. This initiative involves building four high-performance corvettes designed to operate in the challenging conditions of the Baltic Sea, including ice operations. The production start ceremony was attended by representatives from the Finnish Ministry of Defence, the Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command, and other stakeholders. The corvettes are being constructed in a specialized facility to ensure security and quality, with the first vessel launched in May 2025 and currently undergoing outfitting.
