A man in Austria narrowly escaped injury after clinging to the outside of a high-speed train that departed while he was taking a cigarette break. The incident occurred at the Sankt Poelten station, west of Vienna, when the train was en route from Zurich to Vienna. The man, identified as a 24-year-old Algerian, jumped between two carriages as the train began to move. He banged on the windows to attract attention, prompting the conductor to activate the emergency brake. The train, which was delayed by seven minutes, eventually took the man aboard. This incident follows a similar event in January when a Hungarian man clung to a German train for 20 miles.
