Engineered Garments, a Japanese menswear label, has partnered with Gola Classics to release a new version of the Match sneaker, originally launched in 1977. The collaboration involves a redesign by Daiki Suzuki, founder of Engineered Garments, who has replaced the traditional laces with a functional elastic panel. The sneaker features suede and cotton twill fabrications, an overlaid toe panel, and a self-colored mesh lining, reminiscent of the 1970s style. The updated sneaker includes branding from both Gola and Engineered Garments, and will be available in four colorways: navy with gum, Sudan brown with gum, white with gum, and all black. The sneakers will retail for $150 and will be available exclusively at Nepenthes New York, Nepenthesny.com, and Golausa.com starting September 5.
