What's Happening?
The Genesee Valley Pre-Apprenticeship Boot Camp has commenced, offering workforce training in welding and mechatronics careers. This initiative is supported by the Rochester Technology Manufacturing Association, Genesee Valley BOCES, Genesee Community College, the Genesee County Career One Stop, and the GCEDC. Participants, primarily from Genesee County and surrounding areas, will undergo six weeks of paid on-the-job training with companies such as Oxbo, Graham Corporation, Triton Mechanical, and Tambe. The program includes 96 hours of classroom instruction, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and expert guidance from instructors Andrew Geyer and Rich Monroe. Upon completion, students will receive a certificate and have the opportunity to become registered apprentices.
