What's Happening?
The Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA) has launched significant expansion projects at Marrakesh Menara and Agadir Al Massira airports as part of its Airports 2030 strategy. Contracts worth $440 million have been awarded to Jet Contractors and SGTM for these expansions. The Marrakesh-Menara Airport will see its passenger terminal expand to 142,000 m2, increasing its annual capacity from nine million to 16 million passengers. Agadir-Al Massira Airport's terminal will be enlarged to 75,000 m2, doubling its capacity from three million to seven million passengers annually. These projects are part of a broader $3.8 billion plan to modernize Morocco's airport infrastructure, including upgrades to Tangier and Fez airports and a new hub terminal at Casablanca's Mohammed V International Airport.
