Viking has officially taken delivery of its latest river ship, the Viking Amun, at a ceremony held at the Massara shipyard in Cairo, Egypt. The Viking Amun is designed to navigate the Nile River, offering guests a luxurious experience on Viking's popular 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary. The ship accommodates 82 guests in 41 staterooms and features the elegant Scandinavian design that Viking is renowned for. It joins the fleet as an identical sister ship to Viking Osiris, Viking Aton, Viking Sobek, and Viking Hathor, all of which boast modern amenities such as a square bow and an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace. Viking plans to expand its Egypt fleet further, with five additional ships expected by 2027, bringing the total to 12 vessels on the Nile River.
