Egypt has reached a milestone in its pharmaceutical industry by achieving 80% self-sufficiency in pharmaceutical production. This development was highlighted at the opening of Pharmaconex 2025, a major pharmaceutical exhibition held in Cairo. The country now produces approximately 150 million medicine packs annually through over 170 licensed factories. The exhibition, supported by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, showcases Egypt's efforts to boost local manufacturing and strengthen supply chains as part of the Egypt National Health Strategy 2024-2030. The event features over 350 exhibitors from 40 countries, covering topics like sterile manufacturing and digital transformation.
