According to a sustainability report released on August 15, the airport reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 1.4% compared to the previous year and exceeded year-end forecasts by 10.5%. A key component of this initiative is the development of the Eskişehir Solar Power Plant (SPP), which spans approximately 3 million square meters and involves an investment of €212 million ($247 million). The plant is expected to have a capacity of 199.32 megawatts and generate 340 million kilowatt-hours of energy annually. The CEO of iGA, Selahattin Bilgen, emphasized the airport's commitment to environmental sustainability through projects aimed at reducing carbon footprint, enhancing energy efficiency, and optimizing natural resource use.
