Guardian Metal Resources has announced the results of its drilling campaign at the Pilot Mountain tungsten project in Nevada, confirming high-grade tungsten mineralization. The assays from the Desert Scheelite zone revealed significant widths of tungsten, copper, silver, and zinc. Tungsten is a critical mineral for defense applications, particularly in armor-piercing projectiles, and is required in U.S. Department of Defense contracts. The U.S. ceased tungsten production in 2015 due to low prices and competition from China, which dominates global production. Guardian Metal Resources is the only U.S.-based company to receive DoD funding for tungsten projects, with $6.2 million awarded to support Pilot Mountain.
