SkyBus has announced the introduction of two new express services, the Eastern Express and Sunshine Express, aimed at improving airport accessibility for Melbourne's eastern and western suburbs. The Eastern Express service will commence on August 31, 2025, offering a route between Box Hill Central and Melbourne Airport, with stops at Watsonia and Doncaster. The Sunshine Express will begin operations on November 9, 2025, connecting Sunshine Station directly to Melbourne Airport. In addition to these new services, SkyBus has committed to transitioning its Melbourne fleet to fully electric vehicles by 2031, starting with the Sunshine Express service. This initiative includes the introduction of Australia's first electric double-decker buses by mid-2027, positioning SkyBus as a leader in sustainable transport solutions.
