The Sarawak Metropolitan Food Cluster (SMFC) Consortium has launched the MFC Opar project at Sarawak Agrofest 2025, showcasing advanced smart farming technologies. This initiative, a collaboration between Dutch and Sarawak entities, supports the Sarawak government's Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030. The project aims to establish a modern, integrated food cluster, positioning Sarawak as a net exporter by 2030. Located in Lundu, the 84-hectare project includes AI-driven greenhouse farming, sustainable animal feed processing, and integrated agro-logistics systems. These components are designed to reduce reliance on food imports, boost domestic supply, create skilled jobs, and enable Sarawak to export produce to other ASEAN markets.
